Develop your basic skills and knowledge base to become a barber with the Level 2 Diploma in Barbering Studies.
The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Barbering Studies (QCF) has been designed to develop your basic skills to become a barber. Through this qualification you will develop both skills and knowledge in health and safety for both yourself, your peers and your clients.
You will learn how to conduct a thorough consultation prior to starting a service and understand how the choice of shampoos and conditioners can affect the hair and scalp. You will be able to cut basic and facial hair cuts alongside recommending products and services to your clients.
From the optional section of this qualification, there are 12 units to choose from. They provide you with an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in colouring hair, scalp massage, creating a total barbering look or styling men’s hair.
Units in this qualification have been mapped to the relevant NOS (where applicable). This qualification is accredited on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification. Your centre will have ensured that you have the required knowledge, understanding and skills to enrol and successfully achieve this qualification.
